One of the major reasons of PST corruption is the PST size limitation problem. Different versions of MS Outlook email client uses different character formats to write PST files, which determine their pre-defined size limit. Earlier versions of MS Outlook (Outlook 2002 and 2003) support ANSI character format and thus have a size limit of up to 2 GB.
